I HAZ A STICKERS
Q: WHY ALL THESE DOLPHINS!?
A: I have loved cetaceans since I was a tiny kid - they are my original muse. I will never forget going fishing with my grandfather, and being overwhelmed with awe while watching pacific bottlenose dolphins ride the bow wave of the boat.
Q: WHAT WIZARD TAUGHT YOU HOW TO DO THIS!?
A: I've been obsessively drawing since I was a toddler, and my style and techniques have evolved organically over the course of my life. I've never taken any classes or had any instruction (aside from... like... finger painting in grade school) and I never will, because I feel that outside influence will alter and homogenize my natural style.
Q: MAN, WHAT IS UP WITH YOUR STYLE?!
A: I am a detail oriented illustrator, one who paints tiny wrinkles, scratches, and whiskers with itty bitty brushes, and most of all I am a creator. I freehand all my animals and I don't strive for realism or photo-perfect anatomy - I feel that too much referencing takes away from the artistic feel of my paintings. My art comes out looking the way I visualize things in my mind. Well, the art that I actually show people does. I am a harsh critic of my own work, and have a massive reject pile.
Q: WHY IS YOUR DIGITAL ART SO WACK?
A:
In digital art, I am a brand new baby beginner as of late 2014. I taught myself to paint in photoshop, from scratch, I have no idea what most of the buttons do. All of my digital art supplies are severely outdated and I'm kind of waiting for the tech to advance more and become affordable.

Favourite Visual Artist
Robert Wyland and Christian Riese Lassen's art blew my mind when I was a youngster. (I grew up near one of Wyland's famous murals with life-sized whales on it.) These two artists were definitely early inspiration.

The Brave Little Toaster.
Favourite Games
Ecco the Dolphin, and Ecco: The Tides of Time were both huge parts of my childhood. They sparked a love for dolphins and a sense of wonder about the ocean in my seven-year-old mind, and are probably partially to blame for why I ended up so weird.
